Here are my votes for songs that are better than the original. What ones do you have?

1. Metallica's cover of Bob Segar's "Turn the Page"...although I really like the Bob Segar one as well. It's a hard call but I lean towards more heavy rock...this video is kind of freakin' weird. But still a good song.

2. Seether's cover of Wham's "Careless Whisper"

3. Nonpoint's cover of Phill Collin's "In the Air Tonight" from the remade Miami Vice soundtrack.

4. I know I'm going to catch flak for the next two...but Marilyn Manson's cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus"

5. Marilyn Manson's cover of the Eurythmic's "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)"

I forgot some more:

Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal:

Dope's cover of Dead or Alive's "Right Round" (I know it says MM, but it's wrong)

I love Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt. Also, most will probably disagree but I think Shinedown's version of Simple Man is better than the Lynyrd Skynyrd original.

Guys, we're here to discuss iPads, not brag about our knowledge of song covers! And by the way, please stop by my website for my new line of iPad accessories :D (Hey, someone had to say it!)

My picks involve two Natalies: Natalie Merchant and 10,000 Maniacs' acoustice remake of "Because the Night" by Springsteen. Natalie Imbruglia's remake of "Torn" is way better than Edna Swap's original, though Nat still shouldn't have claimed it was hers.

My problem is I didn't butcher my grammar in the parody part, which would have made it more clear who I was poking fun at. ;)
