Crashed computer wiped hard drive

The computer that I use to connect to iTunes and sync with the ipad2 crashed and it is getting fixed. Part of getting fixed will be a wiped clean hard drive. I have all of my music and pictures backed up on the iPad and my documents are backed up by a free TWC Roadrunner deal, so no big deal there. But, now iTunes will not recognize my new hard drive and when I re-establish iTunes will count this as a new computer, hence another device (of my five, at least of purchased from iTunes music) and technically speaking this really is not the case. Is there any way around this? Thanks.
