I have been wondering if it was possible to take a case like the OtterBox Defender and build a reader for up to eight SD card slots within the inside back. A pass through connector would allow full functionality without blocking access to the memory. With the right program setup, it seems to me that a unit like this could provide toughbook type protection, while providing flexible memory configuration. You can add 4, 8, 16 GB cards as needed and can afford them. Maybe even 32 GB cards. So, you could have from a few GB to up to 128 GB or more. Not only that, cards would be swappable. The beauty of the design is that even if one or two of the cards got damaged because the case got damaged, it would limit the loss.
