Red Hook Studios’ incredibly popular and critically acclaimed roguelike RPG Darkest Dungeon is looking more likely than ever to be coming to iPad, writes Touch Arcade.
Last year, the developers first mentioned in a blog post that they would like to bring the game to tablets, but that was the last we heard of that possibility, until now, that is, when the developers revived hopes of an iPad version of the game during a Reddit AMA.
During the AMA, held on the occasion of the PC game’s Crimson Court DLC release, Red Hook Studios said that there is an “extremely high” chance of a tablet version of Darkest Dungeon being released.
Darkest Dungeon is unusual in that it focuses on the psychological aspects of RPG-style adventuring, with the game’s heroes going through all sorts of stresses and strains and mental turmoil, experiencing paranoia, greed, anger, and hopelessness, with the intense emotions having a direct effect on gameplay. It would be really interesting to see how this would come across on iPad, especially given the game’s unique art style. Hopefully there will be more details soon about possible release dates.
