My ipad was stuck on connect to iTunes, this has been resolved however my data is gone. How can I recover the photos? Is there a recovery software available?

If the data is gone from your iPad, there is no way to recover it as the iPad does not have the equivalent of the computer trash bin. If the data disappeared from your PC, try looking in the trash bin before you do anything else with your computer, it may still be there if it hasn't been overwritten.
