Delete email off server

How does one delete email off the server once it has been down loaded to the iPad?
I've done it on the iPod but can't figure out how to do it on the iPad

Hi, welcome to iPF!
Could you please give some more information? Which way did you set up your account? Is it POP, IMAP or Exchange?

If it's an iCloud account, go to Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars - Account. Tap iCloud, then Account. Scroll down to Advanced and tap it. Again scroll down to Advanced and tap. Then you should see "Mailbox Behaviors", and under that "Deleted Messages". Tap "Remove", and choose one of the options you see there.
