How do I delete mail saved by oldest first from "saved" folder on I Pad 2

Are you using POP or IMAP as your mail protocol?
POP only copies the mail from the server to the iPad but leaves the original untouched.
IMAP acts like a virtual window onto the mail server. So deleting mail on the iPad deletes it on the server too.
