Deleting movie downloads

How do I delete a movie that was selected to rent on my ipad but cannot download because of the size? I want to cancel this transaction completely.

Normally you would use iTunes on the computer to transfer any movie to big to download to the iPad (after downloading it on the computer).

In your case, if you want the movie gone, and your money back, contact iTunes Support at Apple, explain your problem and your preferred solution. In most cases they will remove the movie from your download buffer and refund the purchase.

Edit: The above link was broken for use in the IPF app. I've changed it, but linking from the page will break it again. Instead, after opening the link, as soon as the page displays tap the box/arrow icon at the lower right and choose Open In Safari. The support site should work fine in Safari.

Thank you so much for the advice I really appreciate it. I've tried contacting them but it asked me to enter my iPad serial number so I did then it said: "It looks like your product is not covered for complimentary technical support, so you may need to purchase a single incident of support" for $19.00 which is not really worth it sense the download was only $5.00.

Were you trying the telephone technical support number? If so, have you tried here? http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/

Hmm, usually when you click through the options you end up at an email contact form. This does not cost money, at least not usually. Most iTunes support problems cost nothing, because they are helping you with the store. They shouldn't be asking for a serial number because iTunes problems are not tied to a specific iOS device.

Support problems with the iPad itself are different. That's a paid for service after your initial 90 days of free support expire.

I think the OP tried calling the telephone technical support number, which does cost money if the complementary 90 days of support has expired.

You are probably right, though if you go through the support site for hardware instead of iTunes, it asks for your serial number and checks for your support status there as well.

Though I'm curious how they got to iPad support, since the link I supplied only goes to iTunes and account support options, as far as I can see.

BTW, your link doesn't work. I tried it and this is what I saw.

I was using my iPad 4 and Safari is up to date.

Arrggg… Sorry

I'm on my computer. You're right, the link does not work in the app's browser. It does work in Safari on the iPad, but by time you get to the link it's been redirected.

I've updated the link to one that works, sort of, in the app. You need to choose the box arrow icon (lower right) after it opens and choose Open In Safari, or the next link tapped will break it again.

Here is the link again, for convenience: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

Also, you can simply go to Apple's site in Safari, choose the Support tab, and keep choosing items about iTunes until you drill down to the same page. You must choose iTunes and/or iTunes Store options. Choosing the iPad will send you down the hardware path and the paid support options.
