Connect to iTune and under the "Music" tab, uncheck "Entire music library" and select "Selected playlist, artist....", select the music you want and sync to iPad. Checked, put on the iPad, unchecked, not put on the iPad. If you have purchased songs on the iPad, first go on iTunes, upper left hand corner, click "File" > "Transfer purchases from (your ipad name)", do the above.
