My amazon account was closed and I had to set up a new one. I have many books on my kindle app. I want to deregister my old account so I can register my new one so I can download new books. When I try to deregister the old account, I get a message that all my books will be deleted. I've read everything I can find on the internet and most people say the old books won't be deleted. I'm afraid to try because I can't access my closed amazon account. How should I proceed? Thanks!

You can only have one Kindle app on your iPad at one time. Deleting the app will also delete all app data, meaning you will lose all your books. You would need to download the Kindle app onto another device and register that app with your new Amazon account.

Deregistering your old account in the app itself will remove everything you had there - books, other files, newspapers.
If the books from the old account are not in your new one as well, you will lose them.
