Developer question: app within an app

Hi there,

I'm developing an idea for an app. I would need other apps to load within this new app. So for example, I would want to load say 4square within my new app alongside say spotify, so the user can use both at the same time?

Is this possible? Or will I be restricted to API?

Apps are sandboxed and with few exceptions,such as the music app playing in the background,you can't run two apps simultaneously on a stock iPad.

One other thing though...the browser function within this app..is it like a bespoke add on to this forum app, does it use safari in a masked form or is some kind of "stock code" which can be bought?

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that.Maybe someone else seeing this thread will know.

I'm not a developer (barely a dabbler), and certainly not a developer of this app, but:

The iOS developer environment supplies many of the same tools used to create Safari. Pretty much everything in Web Kit. Anything on the iPad that displays web style content probably uses one or more of these objects; tweaked to the specific needs of the app.
