Different Apple-ID's and GameCenter login?

I have a question about different Apple-ID's on iPads. I have an iPad which both me and my two kids use. Now I want to
buy them their own iPads.
I'm going to buy a new Air iPad for myself and one of my kids gets the "old" one and then I'm buying a new one for my
other kid.
Should I give them their own Apple-IDs so all the games and other stuff they're playing and doing become their own or
should I just use my Apple-ID to all three iPads and then give them e.g their own GameCenter login? (I know they will ha-ve to start all over in all the games they have plages with different levels)
Hope the Q is not weird for this forum.

Honestly, it's much easier keeping the IDs separate for separate devices. We did this with our two daughters who both have their own iPads. Works out so much better for them and for me! :). Get me their own apple IDs.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I think it depends on the age of your children.....I have 3 girls myself who have all had their own iPhones since high school......They each have their own Apple IDs and all have iPads now also. They are totally independent in this way. Sharing an ID means you have more control over what they can buy and you only need buy an app once and can then download it to each iPad.....having said that if my girls want an app that I have bought they can just sign out of their ID and into mine to download the app themselves. When these apps receive updates, they will need to input your password.

I find it much easier for them to take care of their own but then they are of an age where they can.

Thank you for your well qualified answers. I think I will create different Apple IDs to other devices.
Then I just have one more question... What happens with the childeren games I have paid for in App store? Do I ned to pay for them again, cause if I create a new ID on the old device that my son is going to have, I can't restore the games or...? and my daughter who is going to have a new one, I can't transfer her games from the old device to the new one when it's two different ID's or can I?

The games are tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. If the iPads used by your children have their own Apple ID, the games will have to be purchased again, unless you follow the directions given by leelai in her excellent post.
