Difficulty connecting iPhone 4s to iPad via Bluetooth to control Keynote

Hi,

I have connected my IPhone to my ipad2 to control my keynote presentations at home via my wireless network.
I cannot however connect via Bluetooth which leaves me in a difficult position when I need to be at a different premises for my work.
Can anyone please help me get connected?
I have tried turning off the airplane mode etc, the Bluetooth searches but I cannot get connected.
