about any antivirus app for my iPad 2? My iPad behave erratically and I read in someplace (sorry I do not remember) that it was a virus affecting iPhone's and iPad's.

When I open an app the same open but close immediately, I try open the eBay app and just continue like open page after page but all in blank, sometimes the icons take times to appear in the screens and other weird behavior. I shut it down, but still doing that.

Any suggestion will be appreciate.

Thank you,

Fernando

Hi Fernando - first, I'm not sure what you did to 'shut down' your iPad, but if not performed, try a 'Reset' (i.e. hold down both the ON-OFF & HOME buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, release both and wait for the device to reboot - let us know if that maneuver helps.

Second, there are no viruses (by strict definition of that term) in the wild that affects Apple's iOS - despite plenty of apps still available for that purpose in the App store. Now, there are other malware threats that can be a pain, especially when browsing the web, such as 'hijacks', ransomware, scamware, scareware, adware, etc. - this topic and dealing w/ the problem is an occasional discussion topic on the forum. Let us know if you have any specific questions. Dave :)

Sorry, that what I means when I said "shut down", I reset my iPad. You mention that is a plenty of app, I have not see any o them, maybe I am not putting attention, but, could you recommend any of then? also, I use Safari to search the web, do you recommend another? Thank you or taking time to help. Fernando

Well, make sure that you did the 'Reset' exactly as I explained and waited for the Apple logo to appear.

As to an AV program, I've never used one on my iPads and have no experience to make a recommendation except that such apps are not needed, so you'll have to read reviews, try them yourself, or wait for other members to respond who may have used these programs - as to viewing the ones available simply go to the App Store and enter 'virus apps' in the search window (blue arrow on the first image below).

As for web browsers, I use Safari but have others on my iPad, including Atomic Web, Puffin, iCabMobile, & Mercury - all have slightly different interfaces and features - I don't have a strong recommendation, so you might want to try a few or again wait for some more posters who may have a strong preference (again enter 'web browsers' in the App Store search window - below second image for a list). Dave :)

Thank you for all the information and honesty. I will be checking those apps and the reviews.

Fernando.

If your iPad is not jailbroken , then you don't have to worry about viruses. The symptoms you're describing sound like typical iPad 2 running out of active memory (RAM). Make sure your iOS is the Latest version. Also, force close any background apps by double clicking home and swiping up apps. This should help solve your problem.
