Does the ipad 2 have a thermometer?

Omething just crossed my mind. I remember during the summer when I kept my iPad in my car that I got an error. Estate stating that it was overheated and could not start and was shutting Down.

Does this mean that there is a thermometer feature built into the iPad 2?

This doesn't directly answer your question but from the wording it sounds like there is some sort of temperature-measuring system in there. Whether it could accurately be called a thermometer is above my pay grade.

Chips in computers in general shut down, crash or switch off when over heated. Else, like some older systems, they just burn out or Explode. Some devices warn you. Some don't. They have the same internal temperature gauges. it's basically just for themselves, not for your pleasure.

But it's not like an app. It isn't a system that can tell you the general temperature.
