Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!)

Attention competitors in the 2nd Speed Breeding Competition.

Possible Spoilery Speculation

It seems more than possible that there will be no Easter Dragon with the new update, as they'll be a new element dragon being introduced with all the fun and games that entails. However it seems that there will be a new Lichen Dragon which is a mix of the opposite elements Plant and Cold. It seems to me that would be a suitable replacement dragon for the comp as it will be hard to breed, and it will be some fun for people to be attempting whilst looking at the new Metal dragons, habitats, decorations, etc. So I propose the following:

1. If there is an Easter Dragon in the new update, we continue as originally planned, and the people that post a screen shot of the correct breeding time in the thread at Dragonvale Speed Breeding Competition - Round 2 - Easter Dragon will be winners in the order that they are posted (subject to adjudication/verification)
2. If there is no Easter Dragon, then the Plant/Cold opposite dragon, possibly called Lichen Dragon, will be the sought after dragon and we will attempt to breed that, post pix, etc.
3. If there is neither an Easter Dragon nor a Plant/Cold opposite dragon, then the competition is on hold until a decision can be reached.

Please post at Dragonvale Speed Breeding Competition - Round 2 - Easter Dragon with your thoughts, or if you have decided this might be fun and you want to join the competition.

Thank you for your attention.

Most of that seems like a reasonable guess. Except for the habitat capacity. Small might be close, but I'm thinking the large will hold more than an Earth and be the first to hit 6 figures. I also think 1 & 3 will be the dragon capacity, and while the dragons released this first time might not be super fast earners, I think a multi-element dragon with big earning potential will be not too far away, Panlong style.

Also guessing with zero information.

1 & 3 with 30k and 120k maybe (do you have a guess on size of habitat in terms of island space? Thinking large fire/air/water or large cold/earth)? They might lower the levels as well on my guess as there are lots of new players. They had small air habitat at level 14 and large Air at level 18 so I am going to reguess that small metal habitat at 16 and Large at 20... Seems reasonable. Bring down the initial egg price too. Buying a new water costs 500k so i can see them do 750k for the egg.

Happiness continues! I don't know why, but in the last days I managed to get the few dragons I was missing, including Bluefire and Sandstorm, and now I was just missing Firefrost. So I put Cold with Firefly in my EBI and... My first 48 hours!!! I guess might be rainbow or sun (it was bred at 8:00 AM), I don't care which one, I'm so excited. I'll just have Firefrost and two rares missing when the new dragons arrive, that's not bad for someone who's just been playing for a month or so! So I just wanted to share this happy dance with you all, since I know I'm getting the dragons so fast thanks to e hard work of people who post in this thread and others in these forums. Cheers.

Congrats!!! What did you use for sandie??

More good questions. I want to go with Earth size habitats, so 5x5 and 6x6. They might make it Colosseum size though to minimise the number you can fit on an island if they are going to be rival earths as big earners.

I like keeping them for the higher levels, for the people that are going for their gold shrines, so 22 or 23 for the large habitat. And if they're big earners, they should have a big price tag, so million seems fine.

Guesses on egg design? Silver seems an obvious base colour. Can't think of a cool texture they could use though.

I have the same thought. As is often the case with DV, I suspect that the early movers will incur higher cost than those who wait. Most of us will be eager to breed the new dragons as soon as possible - especially since BFS is tantalizing us with the early information and the delayed release (they are master manipulators). So we will rush in and breed and level up all the new metals, and probably try to get the new metal gold shrine just as fast as possible. Then, shortly after we accomplish those things, BFS will introduce something that makes the whole process immeasurably easier. For one thing, they need to do something to make the level 20 crowns attainable to those other than cheaters and the marginally crazy like Jack. :)

I would love to wait until going all in. But knowing myself (marginally crazy like Jack) I doubt that I will have the will power to refrain from breeding the new ones and taking them to level 15. But I am going to try and hold off from starting the new shrine grind.

Good call on all of these. Colosseum sized habitats would be hilarious. I think that would add a pretty good twist and some fun redesigns. As far as egg design goes I am thinking LYD but silver (I have no imagination right now. maybe have some serrated edges)

And the people not to into the look of these dragons I think wait till you see them flying around in your park after they get rendered. They should look much better than the basic pictures BFS sent out. They already show more detail than most of the existing dragons.

Probably a good call Poppy :) How long was it they released the Panlong's after they made the Gold Shrines available? 3-4 weeks? I can't even remember.

Baby Lichen Dragon is super cute.

Edit: Adult? Not so cute.

Edit 2: I posted a pic of my level 10 Lichen in the Speed Breeding Competition thread, if you're interested. I don't think I won anything, just letting you folks see it just in case or whatever. I'm really kind of holding out for a secret or Easter dragon.

I'm kinda bummed about this update....they are really easy to breed. I bought the metal(1,000,000 gold coins) bred with all the required elements. I now have thanks to saving my gems (to speed up things)all the new dragons either hatched or incubating...

Happy Breeding
