Dropbox/ icloud help

Hi there one and all
Just been looking how to get my photos organised "due to cloud &dropbox". They are everywhere and yet what a mess. what can I do about it? I know I've seem somewhere on the iPad to stop it happening again but where. At the moment just unlinked the Dropbox but don't know weather that's enough, is there somewhere like a help page I can access and any advice for organising files would be gratefully received. Plus the fact that all those photos must be taking up memory, ITS ONLY 16GB!!! I have seem an app to sort it BUT?
What do you all do. I for one would be very interested
