Dropbox-like functionality through Sharepoint?

I'm new to the iPad (and apple products!) and am loving what it can do so far. Dropbox is fantastic- I love how my files are always update to date, and that my work computer and my iPad have access to the same files.

My dream is to be able to do this dropbox like stuff within a sharepoint 2010 site. I'd like my files synchronized with sharepoint, so my laptop, ipad, and sharepoint are all in sync. I like the idea of being able to share files with various people with sharepoint as well, which is where i find dropbox not fully satisfying me.

Any ideas, or am i just going to have to wait for technology to catch up?
