Dumb Question

Hi there and welcome.

In Safari the adress(URL) and search bars have been combined into one, Safari can tell the difference between a search term and a web address so just type your search word or phrase into that bar and you should be able to do the search of the web.

Well I get that. But when you use the search bar on the main page outside of safari. That's where my issues are.

Do you mean Spotlight search, if so then this doesn't search the web, only stuff that is on your iPad, the options are here.....

There used to be the feature where you could search the Web or Wikipedia from within Spotlight. If that's what you mean, then that option has been removed from iOS 7's Spotlight. Dunno why...

If that's not what you meant, then never mind. :)

This is exactly what I meant. Oh that's not good. I liked that feature so much.

Oh well. There is always Siri, if you're device support it. You can even specify where to search. As an added (minor) bonus, you don't even have to unlock the iPad to do the search.
