DVD to ipad2 using pc?

Hi folks I have been searching on here and trying things out for past 2 days and I'm still confused.

Just want to convert DVDs for the ipad2 for my little boy for when we fly out on holiday.

Have read about handbrake using the apple tv preset. Tried it and the playback was unwatchable. Got free trial of
aiseesoft and got that to work but the free trial will only convert 5 mins of the footage.

Just wondering if its worth paying for the full version?, are there any other free ones I should try first?, any ideas on what I'm doing wrong with handbrake?

Maybe it would be easier to find an app that will play the dvd file extension you have instead of converting. Take a look at Buzz Player and AVplayerHD.

tried handbrake again. must have had old version yesterday. thought id cracked it will updated version but nope. the picture is playing back pixelised. any idea what im doing wrong folks??

I did and it was still pixelised.. Really don't know what I'm doing wrong :-(

That is strange. How big are the files coming out to be? Mine average about 700mb for a 90-120 min movie

I read somewhere you needed to download VLC also to use handbrake, I use dvd cataylst 4 it doesnt cost much for the full version either it does all kinds of formats.

Videora or VLC work well for me - worth a try - they are free!

If you are using a PC try Format Factory (its free) to do the conversion. It is what I use and it plays perfectly in Ace Player.
