Edit function ceased working

I used to be able to press the Edit function on my iPad2 when viewing emails and that allowed me to tag as many emails as I wanted and then Delete them. Now the Edit function no longer works. Did something change in the operating system?

I just deleted several emails using the edit function and it worked perfectly for me.

Try to quit the mail app and see if that works. If not, restart your iPad.
