Im new here so hope someone can help with a real annoying issue.
I get a heap of emails a day and some of them I can reply. I reply the email and press send and then a window pops up saying message can't be sent Due to unauthorized account settings or something and sends the message to the outbox? I have noticed at lot of the emails that won't go are hotmail or alike accounts, help this driving me mad.

Are you trying to send e-mails while away from your e-mail address's ISP? For example, I have RoadRunner at home, which is a POP-only provider; and it cannot be set up any differently. I can send and receive e-mails all day long IF I am at home. However, once I leave home, I cannot send e-mails with that account (can receive them, though). The Mail app does as you describe, puts my e-mails into the Outbox, for sending when I return home.

Tim Spracklen, one of our moderators, can give you all the technical details (cause he's brilliant at that kind of stuff!) as to why this happens. I just know it does, which is why I now use a Gmail account when I'm away from home (and as my default account).

Hope this helps in some small way.
