Email not pushing

I have the IPad 1 running IOS 5 using Yahoo email have not been able to receive Push notification on emails for a week. I am at my wits end! I have tried everything I know of to fix this, and no luck. I am hoping someone here might be of assistance.

I have already tried deleting my account & re-adding, that didn't work.

I tried to restore the IPad to new, that didn't work either...

I have made sure all the appropriate settings were correct, which they are, and still nothing...

Can you help?

Go to the settings app, notification tab, and then scroll down to the mail thing. Tap edit in the top right and drag the 3 lines on the right of the mail line up to the very top. Then tap done in the top right, and tap on the mail line. In the middle where it says "Alert Style" tap the middle iPad pic labeled "Banners". Now when you get an email, it will show up as a banner at the top of the screen.

I have an iPad2. Push stopped working maybe a week or two ago. On rare occasion one will come in. My settings have push turned on. I moved the mail to the top of the Notification area as recommended. I then shutdown and restarted. Still push email not coming through. Before that I deleted iCloud and email accounts and recreated. Still no change. I tried changing the sound, emptying the trash from other random recommendations to no avail. Very frustrating. Any new suggestions are welcome. I don't have 3G. I use wifi (64gig).

Emptying the trash? You can't empty trash on an iPad. :)

True. I didn't understand the suggestion either but did it on the mail provider just for the sake of desperately trying to get this annoying problem resolved. :-)
