Email trash

I can’t delete my email that is in trash. I went to setting and did the delete mailbox but it didn’t work. I have to many to delete one at a time. Any suggestions

Open trash folder, hit "edit" in upper right corner, "select all" in upper left corner, hit "delete" in lower right corner

I go to emails choose an in box. Tap edit, then select all , or just tap the individual emails I want to delete. Then tap trash. All selected emails get trashed. L

I have to many to delete individually. And tapping select all doesn’t work.
