face time

I am a very new mac user/ ipad user. I have a rookie question.

With face time or i chat can I chat with my kids and wife while they use a PC?

I am concerned that I will not have that ability. I will have the i pad and they will have our PC desk top.

face time works with another face time device like the latest itouch, iphone4 and the ipad2.

no, you can't. Facetime is only available for new itouch, iphone, ipad, and mac computers/laptops. I would say within the next month or so Skype will have a video chat app that is compatible.
