Failure to download IO6

I've tried several times but after just a minute or so, it comes up with "An Error occurred downloading IO6.". It doesn't give me a error number. I've got plenty of space available, having recently purchased 15Gb, so how do I go about fixing this? Many thanks

To what device are you trying to download iOS 6? And, from which site are you trying to get the firmware? If we could have a bit more detail?

I have an iPad 2 16G Wifi. I usually download updates by going to Settings / General / Software Update and previous updates have never been a problem.

The only solution I can then offer you is to use iTunes to do the update. Or, maybe wait for a bit (in case it's a server error)?

Sometimes, things just don't work like they're supposed to. Sorry.

You go through iTunes on your computer, not on your iPad, when your iPad is connected to your computer by the charging cable.

I mean iTunes on your computer (be it a desktop or a laptop; a PC or a Mac). The iTunes on the iPad is just a storefront for music and movies and such, not for iPad management. You need the computer version of iTunes.
