What's new

FINALLY!!! Charge your IPad from any computer

Will try this in the morning. If this works, I nominate you for post of the year...

Have an ASUS mobo so no reason to think it won't. Awesome..

This i just for ASUS motherboards.
Other manufactures are also putting out updates to allow the USB ports to put out the correct power.

Check your Motherboard manufacturers website for updates.

Any idea if it will work with an Asus netbook? I have a fairly new eee1005ha (atom 280cpu). Thanks for any info!

I've got an Asus motherboard on my Windows box, did a bios update and it now charges iPad through USB. Also noted, their software add says "all motherboards" anyone without an Asus MB,, hurry up and try this,, curious minds want to know...;)

Thanks for the tip!!

I use all Gigabyte boards.

Updated to the latest bios (only do this if you know what you are doing)
Downloaded and installed on-off charge from Gigabyte

iPad is charging via USB while I am using it!!

It works

It works on my acer computer at lest the Ipad says it is charging :)'

Thanks for the link. You have my vote for post of the year.

It still charges slowly, but surprisingly it actually works on my PC laptop :). I'm wondering if there are any side effects though....PC did seem to start up slower.

I installed it on my newer HP. Didnt prompt for MB type.Worked on my ipad for about 5 secs when I got a blue(memory dump)screen. Happened with every reboot until uninstalled. I'll go with the trickle.
