Folio cases

iPF Noob
I went to Target last night for something and decided to swing by the iPad display and found there are about ten folio cases on the rack for the ipad2 now. I was so excited to finally have that option, but as I picked up each one and read the packages, not one of them mentioned the sleep /wake function. Guess i'll keep on waiting.
No iPads in stock, not even the first gens, but they've still got the same two keyboard docks in the display case that have been there for the past several months. No wonder they didn't make those for the ipad2.
When is someone going to make a folio case with the sleep / wake function? Over a month now and there's still not one in the stores.

Switch Easy Canvas has sleep awake function. I just got mine yesterday and I love it. You can only get it from their website for now. It's also $49+$4 shipping but you get a screen protector with it. Posted pictures here.

That is a very nice looking folio. I got something similar ... the TargusVuScape. It has the additional advantage of built-in stand. A little bit thicker and slightly heavier, but having the stand is most convenient. I like the stand action better than the Smart Cover. I added a small magnet and now I also have on/off just by opening the cover. If you type a lot you can pick up the Apple Wireless keyboard. Zaggmate for $99 is also probably one of the best integrated packages. I like my combo better as I don't need to carry mine around all the time (retired y'know.) But a student might like the Zaggmate better. I like the Apple Wireless keyboard better as it is full size and beautifully made ... great touch. I don't have to retrain my brain. Oh, The Targus VuScape is $39 plus tax. Looks are classy ... we got the one with light blue insides and blue stitching on the outside. Picked mine up at Best Buy.

That sleep/awake "feature" isn't that big of a deal like so many reviewers make it out to be. Unless a person is extremely lazy, it doesn't take much effort to tap the home button with your finger to wake the iPad. Plus the iPad goes into sleep mode on it's own with no activity.

I see reviewers giving cases bad reviews because of it, which is just stupid. Talk about lazy. The vieo posted here is just one example os what I'm talking about.

It just ticks me off that nice cases get bad reviews over something so ridiculous.

I like that one, but I think I want one that actually covers up part of the bezel. Look pretty cool though.

Yea everyone's different... for me I was looking for something that doesn't cover the bezel at all (don't like my fingers sliding into piece of leather/plastic) lol so it's perfect for me.

The video mention lack of that feature becasue it's important to some people. Some people even go out of thier way to add magnets to their cases. It's not necessary but neither is the iPad itself. It's a nice to have thing.

Anyhow, no cases were put down just because that alone. It's usually lack of sleep/wake feature paired with quality/fuctional concerns.
