MacRumors reports on a story on DigiTimes today about reports coming out of China that three Foxconn workers have been charged with leaking pictures and information about the iPad 2 ahead of its launch. According to the report , Foxconn was alerted to the fact that information had been leaked when it saw accurately shaped iPad 2 cases for sale online in China long before the iPad 2 itself had been launched by Apple. Foxconn reported the matter to the police and three workers were arrested back in December 2010, and charged in March 2011 with “violating the company’s trade secrets.†It was photos of those cases from China that caused such excitement when they started showing up on tech news sites back in December 2010, confirming the existence of the iPad 2 and giving plenty of clues about the device’s design long before Apple was even acknowledging that an iPad 2 was in the works.
