Freezing Apps

Quite often when I am updating apps they freeze at
the installation stage.This doesn't happen with my Iphone.
The only way to unfreeze them is to sign out of Itunes which
is a pain.
Is this a common problem with the Ipad?

Have you tried to power recycle your iPad - i.e. turning it completely off and then on again, rather than simply putting it to sleep. This cures a whole load of 'problems' with the iPad and even Apple recommend you do this at least once a week.

I usually do this with iphone once in a while but haven't done it yet to my iPad 2 as it is only 4 days old so I'll keep that in mind - thanks for the tip!

When you say, they freeze, what does it exactly mean? Does it say 'installing...' below the app for a long time?

Because if it just says Waiting, you can reanimate it to download by pressing on the stalled app.

It never says waiting only installing.
I have pressed on stalled apps but that does nothing.

Does the freezing only occur with certain apps, perhaps only with large apps, such as games?

How long have you waited for the installation to finish?
