Ftp on ipad

Know there are apps for file transfer (Dropbox,etc) which are great programs and I use them. But I work in a corporate environment where we have our own FTP site setup. Using a our server to host. I tried opening our FTP site view a direct link and typing in the FTP URL, but all I get is a permission popup. Not the typically login/password screen that you receive when you are on your desktop.

Any help is great as our company is new to using iPads and making them play nice in the corporate environment
