Fully Charged Indication

Kindles and the Nook Color have a light on or near the charger plugin that turns green when fully charged. My iPad 2 has nothing to indicate same. Yes, there are apps with sounds to tell you, but why no indicator on iPad 2? Or is my charger defective?

It's not all that inconvenient to push the button to check charge status, but...

Turn on the battery icon. In settings > usage> battery you will get an icon on the upper right which will indicate %.

Thanks. Did that early on. It's helpful, but was looking for more.
