Dr. Kawashima’s brain training games have always been a lot of fun on the Nintendo DS, and they seem to be doing equally well as iOS apps. The latest in the series, for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, is More Brain Exercise, and it features 15 new puzzlers, including 5 that are unique to the iOS platforms. If you’ve ever played one of Dr. Kawashima’s games before, you’ll know that they really do stretch the brain and make you feel like you’re giving your brain a real work-out, so it’s no surprise to learn from Namco that More Brain Exercise is scientifically proven to stimulate the brain. The app is designed to exercise different regions of the brain, strengthening key areas such as memory, logic, visual perception and much more.

In this latest app, players can include their friends by sharing their scores or by going head-to-head with up to four players. The app also enables you to upload your Dr. Kawashima-approved brain age to compare it with opponents in a variety of tracked categories. ‘My brain’s bigger than your brain!’, that sort of thing! Local competition is also possible via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Here’s Carlson Choi, vice president of marketing at Namco Networks, talking about the game:

“Gaming is the ultimate form of entertainment, but being able to actually increase your brain size while doing so is even better. It’s a great learning tool for both kids and adults, even on the go.â€

To knock your brain into shape, you can download More Brain Exercise with Dr. Kawashima HD here for $6.99/£3.99.
