For movies you download, OPlayer HD may work.
Movies on other sites, depends on whether they detect your mobile browser, allow it, and server media using HTML 5 instead of Flash.
There are also several other apps; some free, some pay, some a combination.
Crunchyroll, ABC, Hulu Plus, PBS, TED+SUB are some of the ones I have.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!
