Hi,

I've just purchased an iPad 1 from a friend of mine. It all started off fine when I set up my stuff originally. I then turned on the "Zoom" feature in the Accessability... and then that night some of my programs kept crashing :(

The weird thing though, is that is ONLY seems to be 2 apps:

Gmail
MyPad

Both of these *were* working fine, but now when you click the icons they just come up with a flash on the screen, and then close again. For the FB app I am actually still getting my notifications coming up on the screen, but I obviously can't open them as the app won't open

Has anyone got any suggestions? I'm on iOS 5.0.1, and the iPad is a 64Gb 3G one

TIA!

Andy

Hi Andy and welcome to the Forum!

Whenever an app misbehaves the first step to do is to close it completely and then relaunch it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. As you have an iPad 1 it's a good idea to close all apps regularly to clear more ram. An iPad 1 has 256mb of ram whereas the 2 has 512mb. If you have a lot of apps open they all will be using ram. Some apps, particularly gaming apps require a lot of ram to play. Turning on Zoom would not have been the culprit here, apps just play up sometimes and luckily the remedy is simple. Let us know how you go.
