The official Google Drive app for iPhone and iPad users has recently been update with a bunch of new useful features. The company is bringing improvements specific to iOS 8 and other new features that make the app work better with other apps on your iPhone and iPad.
Google Drive is now optimized for iOS 8 and it now scales properly on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus displays, as well. But the biggest new features for devices running iOS 8 is the fact Google Drive now lets you open files in other apps. After that, you can also save them back to Google Drive and they will also be synchronized across your other devices.
Google has recently released a Chrome extension that offers the exact same functionality. Another new feature is Touch ID support for unlocking Google Drive. So, if you have important files stored on your account, you can now unlock it with your fingerprint.
The updated app now also allows to save videos from Drive to your device (tap File Info icon > Open In > Save Video) and brings a bunch of other bug fixes and performance improvements.
