grageband for ipad 2 questions

How many gig ipad 2 should I buy for the grageband app to work. I have read about "hang up" problems. I really think this would be great for me but only if it works without glitches. My Sonar on pc glitches all the time and I've given up on it so I'd hate to spend money on something else that doesn't work. Thanks for any advice.

I don't have a iPad 2 or GarageBand but any gig will do, just don't worry.
