I saw the note in the Yahoo group and decided to join.
I'm mostly a lurker but do make occasional comments.
I come from a PC instead of an Apple background, but I'm not a PC bigot (Some of my best friends use Mac's :>)).
I'm a retired green screen senior programmer/analyst so I can probably answer IBM mid-range questions, but I'm just a PC user so don't look for expert answers from me in that area.
I live in Southern California, read a lot, and participate in the Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire as the rider of Lightning Scooter-Horse. I'm mobility challenged and the scooter lets me continue to participate. I also have a large O gauge model railroad layout.
I've had an iPad for about a year and my wife tells me that she thinks I get more use out of it than any of my other recent "toys". My primary use is as an ebook reader. I also use it for news, keeping track of earthquakes, and the weather. I've never developed an interest in games so I've still got quite a bit of free space on my 32G wifi iPad1.
