Hi, I'm a newbie with the IPad, but have had a macbook pro for over a year. I live in Michigan and travel with an RV, living on solar power at times. (I know cloudy Michigan and solar power don't seem to go together.) The Ipad is a low energy user, so it fits with the solar lifestyle. The computer takes over 10x more. I am noticing problems as I use the iPad and hope to learn enough to stay out of trouble.

I took a few courses in how to use my 64 GB IPad and now am experiencing problems updating apps. They seem to be updating for days. Should I delete them and start over? Options seem limited since there is little guidance.

Best to all & Happy Holidays.

Hi Carl--welcome from Michigan as well! Have you tried checking in your iTunes apps to see if there are any podcasts trying to update? If so, delete those and see if your apps will in the App Store will begin to update. Many members have found this to be a problem and found it fixed after doing this. Also, have you tried to do the immediate fixes. Sometimes just doing the following may help jump start an app to behave correctly. See below:

1. Force the app to close?
2. Try to restart your iPad?
3. Try to do a soft reset?

You can try this in order, if an app becomes funky.

Force the app to close down*by pushing the home button twice to bring up your multi-task bar. This will show all the apps that you have visited. By long pressing the app in question, it will begin to jiggle-press the red circle with the negative sign on the app. It will only quit the app and not delete. Than try to re-open the app and test out.

If that doesn't work, restart the iPad by pressing the power switch down to power off.

Third is to do a soft reset by holding the power switch and home button together until you see the apple logo. Hope that helps!

BTW... Are you trying to update these apps using cellular data? If so, try updating the apps when you have a wifi connection that may have better signal.
