Hello every one am Ifechi am new to this forum. Can anyone help me ? I can't log into iMessage and FaceTime with my apple ID . My apple ID is correct cos I can log into my account using safari. But it won't work on iMessage and face time. I have reset and restored to no avail. Help pls.

Imessage works when sending to other ipad/iphone users and they need to be online/logged on, it is automatic

Not sure what you mean by facetime, in ipad settings is it turned on?

Oh, welcome and make yourself comfortable

Ok lemme be clearer, I got my iPad 2 few months ago and it has been working excellently. I cud send messages to other iPad n iPhone users but recently exactly 2 days ago I noticed I couldn't access iTunes Store. So from the info I got online, I set my iPad date to a time in d future and some other stuff ...... After I reverted back to the recent date, I discovered FaceTime and iMessage can no longer accept my apple ID and password. Keeps giving me an error message " incorrect password and ID". I know my ID and password are correct cos I can log on to apple using safari.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I don't know why you would have to set your time in the future, I've never heard of this being a fix for anything. But I would try deleting your settings in both iMessage and FaceTime then reset your iPad and then reactivate both these apps.
Reset - Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Let us know if this makes a difference.
