Having trouble uploading pics from my PC via itunes

I have tried to upload my pictures to my ipad via itunes, the folders are transfered to my ipad after I sync it, but they are empty?
I'm somewhat tech savvy, but new to ipad and Mac ways.
Can anyone help? I didn't think I had to download an app to do this....sigh

One of the things to hold in mind when using iTunes to sync photos is that it will only handle a single level of folders. You have the main folder, and then one subfolder layer which will become the albums. If your pictures are contained in further subfolders they will not transfer.

I usually recommend making a folder specifically for the iPad, and then placing 'copies' of your pictures there. That way if you fool with the folders later you won't accidentally delete the only copy just because you don't want it in that album anymore.
