Headphones

I'm not getting sound with my earphones. I've tried two different sets of earphones, but only hear sound from the iPad speaker. Ideas?

Have you tried turning up the volume when the headphones are securely plugged in? The volume buttons can have one setting for the speakers and a different level for the audio jack.

Thanks for answering. I just tried that, and the sound still comes only from the speaker.

Ok, is this a non-jailbreaked iPad? If so, have you done a reset? Hold down the Home and Power buttons until the apple appears. It will take longer than a normal power off/on, maybe a minute before the login or home screen appears. No data should be lost in this process. If you do have a JB unit, someone else will need to help as I'm not knowledgeable in those units.

Sometimes, it's hard to seat the headphone plug. You may have to press it more than you think. So, try pushing it in more. It's finicky that way...
