What's new

Hello everyone :)

Hi I recently got an iPad 2 it was loaded with 5.1 so my (incomplete) search brought me here. I have been anti-apple my whole life but feel pretty goofy now seeing what a wonderful product they do make. I had to use the iiGS in elementary school so I think that is why. I still remember you could boot into a command prompt and write BASIC prigs and used to freak out the teachers with this. I have in the past built Hybrid OS builds for Blackberries and would love to get into the jail breaking scene but don't know where to start. If anyone can lead me to some basic guides to building a jailbreak I would appreciate it. I am running a PC with windows XP FYI.

Welcome to the dark side, the force is stronger now you have an iPad :)
Just search the forum for jailbreaking and you will find loads of advice, however my advice will be don't get too flustered and worry about doing it, just do it and learn along the way, it's so simple. However your one of the many that are going to have to wait a while yet the guys are busy making a stable jailbreak for IOS 5.1 and it won't be out for a while. My advice first of all is read up on it as you can't downgrade so easily like you used to but once it's ready you will be happy, just be patient I've heard all known exploits have been found so were a little closer. Anyway the mods will be along soon with plenty of links etc and you should get a decent response to most of your threads, we're a decent forum community so welcome and good luck jailbreaking in due course. :)
