Hello from Memphis

Hi all,

Just got my iPad 2 back in early December and have been loving it since. My gf got me the basic 16GB wifi model (black). Been doing a lot of research on note taking apps and eReaders so far. I think this is actually my second post; I posted yesterday in a thread about note taking apps.

I'll mostly be using my device for personal use, but I'm entrigued with the potential uses at the office, including taking notes in meetings. It is, however, a personal device so my ability to use it for work related projects may be limited due to our IT policies.

A little background on yours truly... I'm a structural engineer currently working in Memphis, TN. I grew up in central Ohio where I also attended The Ohio State University, where I got my BSCE. I'm an avid endurance athlete (running, road cycling, mountain biking, triathlon, etc.) and a dog lover (my buddy Buck runs with me all the time).

As far as tech goes, I'm a big fan of Apple products, but would not consider myself a "fanboy." As with many folks I'm sure, it all started with an iPod. Then that moved onto a MacBook, then an iPhone 3G (but currently using an Android phone), another iPod, AppleTV, multiple Apple routers, and on and on haha.

I'll likely lurk on here a bit, reading up on various apps and tips. I'll try to chime in when I feel it's warranted. I look forward to all the learning I'm sure to undertake from this site. Have a good one!

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. You can download the manual for your iPad here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for both iOS 4 and 5.
