I just got an iPad (1) and everything is up to date on it. Not only do i have problems sometimes with the type of charger im using which usually i get to work anyway.. but the bigger problem is that when its plugged in and i try to use it, it completely freaks out! when i try to unlock it brings me to a slideshow of pictures when i try to click an app it doesn't open. when i try to scroll screens it scrolls a 100 times and just ends up at the same screen .. i don't know what to do to fix this please someone help!

It sounds like you may have a defective touchscreen. You could make a Genius appointment at the closest Apple store. If the screen is defective, the repair cost is generally about half the cost of a new device. If you take it in, make sure to update first. If your iAd is exchanged for a refurbished one, you can set it up from your backup.

I recommend getting the correct charger suggested by Apple for your iPad. This is the only way to be 100% sure it will work as intended. Most likely, your charger is sending too much power to your iPad, causing it to "bug out".

If the problem continues, take it back to where you bought it and they should resolve the issue or replace it. If they don't you should start to yell, it usuhally work - they will do what you want just to get you out of the store.

The charger cannot send too much power to the iPad. The iPad will not draw more power than it needs. The charger is not the cause of the problem. It's almost certainly a defective touchscreen as mentioned in my previous post.
