HELP! iPad 2 stuck in respring loop

Hey guys,

Any help or advice would be much appreciated! I've got an iPad 2 running 5.0.1 jailbroken with abisinthe. A week ago, my iPad decided to randomly get stuck on the respring loop. I Did not install any tweak from cydia btw! I have a few issues which are preventing me from restoring now,

1) My old laptop got stolen and i just replaced it (Windows). Upon plugging the iPad in, it tried to install the MTP USB driver but the respring loop happens too fast and doesn't allow this update to finish. I have however got the Apple driver installed.

2) How will I now restore back to 5.0.1 now that 5.1.1 is the latest version?

I am able to put the iPad in DFU or Recovery mode however in normal mode it just gets stuck on the respring loop. Quite a strange thing has happened twice now, after a night on the charger, I have woken up to the slide to open message and it works perfectly, however once I unplug it, it returns back to the respring loop.

Please could someone help me out, I have no idea what else I could do! All I want to do is restore and re-jailbreak my device!:'(

Thanks in advance!

I've moved this to the hacking forum so as to get the right folks looking at your problem......and hopefully an answer.

It looks as if that particular version of iOS/jail break is toast. For whatever reason, it appears as if it just not going to work properly.

If you have saved SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0.1, take a look at this new downgrade process: http://www.ipadforums.net/showthread.php?t=69625

If you have the blobs for 5.0.1, you should be able to restore that iPad and then downgrade it to 5.0.1 with the new tool. Then, you can re-jail break it.

Given your description, it appears as if this is your only option. Good luck.

Thanks for the help guys. I just have one more query, if I only recently saved my 5.0.1 blobs (with Tiny Umbrella) and Apple had already released 5.1 - would that be a problem? Do they need to sign something off or anything? Cause I'm scared I might have shot myself in the foot now that redsnow is giving a message saying the blobs can't be found from the server.

If your blobs are saved, your blobs are saved. Job done.
