Help needed regarding ipsw

Hi,

I was trying to jb my ipad running on ios 4.3.1 by redsn0w. I was trying to find my ipsw file. I went to C:/Doument and Settings/username/application data/apple computer/itunes/ipad software updates. couldnt find the ipsw file there. show hidden files option is enabled. but still couldnt find it.

can someone enlighten me on this?

I think its gets automatically deleted after you restart your computer
You need to re download it manually(from apple server)

No. They stay. If you download a new update the old ones get deleted so all you have is the current software.

You should be able to download 4.3.1 from here:

If that doesn't work, you could just upgrade to 4.3.3 and then jailbreak the iPad using redsn0w.

What's wrong with the sticky in this section which has all the iPad ipsw files for direct download from Apple servers?

Nothing is wrong with the sticky, except that you always update it, so it only links to iOS 4.3.3 and not to 4.3.1 anymore.

Tut, tut DUMI. You should always check these things... The thread contains links to all versions back to 3.2.1... That the point of it... a history of past versions we can easily maintain...
