Hi, welcome to iPF!
It doesn't depend on the software if you can delete photos. Usually you're able to delete every photo, except the ones you synced to your device via iTunes. To get rid of them, deselect the pictures you don't want to see on your iPad any more in iTunes (computer) and sync the iPad to it again.
