Help with I cloud and ipad2

Hello all,I am new to your site but have found it most helpfully for little problems I have had in the past, but I have a problem that just can't solve.... I recently downloaded an audio book on my ipad2. The download went though fine, but didn't automatically go to my iPhone or to my pc as all other down loads have in the past!
I have tried going into iTunes and going to purchases and there is no mention of the audio book, however if I go to
Purchase it again iTunes says you have already bought this?...
How do I get it on to iTunes and my phone?..
Any help would be very gratefully received

Maybe try signing in with a different appleid, if you have more than one? Or look to see where the file was stored in your hard drive and make sure that folder is syncing
