Can someone help me before i turn my ipad into the worlds most expensive frizbee

I am trying to do a full settings/content reset but it asks for the password for and old email that is no longer recognised as an apple ID, so i cant reset it.

I can log into i tunes store and itunes on my pc with my existing email

but it will not let me erase the pad.

Can you log into your iCloud.com account on a computer? Use whatever username/password that works there to try and log out of iCloud on the iPad. It is your iCloud account, not the Apple ID that is used for activation lock (the problem you are encountering). While the Apple ID and iCloud ID can be the same, and often are, they don't have to be. It all depends on you you set up the iCloud account.
